醉心藝術黃歌川的畫作

台灣畫壇國寶級藝術家黃歌川(1919~2010)，醉心藝術創作七十寒暑，漫畫、木刻、攝影、水彩畫、水墨畫、冰裂紋蠟染畫、油畫、多媒材、以及宗教為主題之禪畫，無一不精，是全方位知名藝術家。其名列入文化部出版的戰後台灣美術史書，以及國史館民國人物傳記史料之中
黃歌川擅於將東西方繪畫理念與技巧，各取其精華，融合為一，加上勇於求新求變的精神，將古老的東方藝術，注入了新時代的繪畫語彙，研發出獨步藝壇四大新域－「冰裂紋蠟染畫」、「現代禪畫達摩」、「水墨畫(國畫)油彩化」、「心象派多媒材畫」。使古藝術得以脫胎換骨，另闢新徑，對變革近代亞洲藝術作出貢獻。
黃歌川積極參加台灣文化建設運動，1959年與王藍、劉其偉、席德進等人組織「中國水彩畫會」，為創始委員，並主編水彩畫壇專輯。1962年與虞君質、姚夢谷、黃君璧、楊英風先生等人協組「 中華民國畫學會」(創立至今55年)。另協創中華民國版畫學會、中國美術設計協會(現在中華民國美術設計協會)、中國攝影協會，為台灣播種了文化的新苗，在戰後台灣美術史上作出貢獻。
國內展出計有，歷屆全國美展（終身免審查資格）、各縣市文化中心、及各地藝術團體參加聯展與舉辦個人展多不勝舉。
海外展出計有，巴西聖保羅國際雙年展 (與威尼斯雙年展、德國卡塞爾文獻展，並稱為世界三大藝術展)、比利時、瑞士、西班牙、紐西蘭、香港、日本、韓國、馬來西亞、加拿大、美國波士頓、大陸北京、福建省與安徽省等地展出，深受好評，宏揚國際。
作品廣受國立歷史博物館、國立台灣藝術教育館、福建省美術館、國立台灣藝術大學藝術博物館、淡江大學文錙藝術中心、文化大學華岡博物館、各縣市文化中心(例如:台中縣立文化中心)、宗教界(佛光山、法鼓山、慈濟、中台禪寺等)、美國太空總署(NASA)、廣東省石景宜美術館、 國內外私人收藏家等，獲得海內外各界好評與收藏。
Taiwan’s post-war forerunner artists-Ko Chuan Huang (1919-2010) was born in Fujian and settled in Taiwan for over 60 years. Specializing in watercolor painting, ink wash painting, Batik, oil painting and mixed media.
In the 1950s, Huang took part in the Taiwan Modern Painting Movement and established the Graphic Art Society of the Republic of China, the Art Society of the Republic of China, along with Chu Teh-Chun, Yang Yu-yu, and Chen Ting-Shih . Such are Huang’s contributions to setting the foundation for Taiwan’s art development today.
Huang is listed in books on Taiwan’s post-war art development compiled by the Ministry of Culture, as well as biographies of people from the early Republic published by Academia Historica. Huang’s artworks were selected for numerous solo exhibitions and domestic/international joint exhibitions e.g. Bienal de São Paulo in Brazil, which is one of the world’s top 3 art exhibitions.
During 70 years of his artistic life, he had achieved many milestones.
【Taiwanese Ice-crack Batik Painting】
An original technique that changed the direction of Batik, leading to the accolade, “The Pioneer of Modern Batik”.
【Dharma Zen Painting】
The portrayal of Bodhidharma in various forms conveys the spirit of Zen, creating a new style in Zen Painting. He had reputation of the “Grandmaster of Contemporary Zen Painting”.
【Oil-based Chinese Ink Painting】
Instead of using water-ink on paper, applied oil paints on canvas, blending Oriental and Western aesthetics to internationalize Chinese painting. He was respected as the “Father of Oil-based Chinese Ink Painting”.
【Multimedia Modern Painting】
Create a new-type of aesthetic appearance through blending technique. He was known as “Master of Color Painting of Mental Imagery”
